Sorry for the delay in Info!

I appoligize for slacking off lately on keeping this updated, my husband deployed to Iraq recently and I have eben a bit distracted. I have also been performing with Burien Little Theatre, which has been very fun!

Anyway, the calendar has been updated with this summers Games and Events. As of right now I'm sorry to say Clan Cochrane will not be represented at any of the Washington Games and Festivals this year. The main games take place rigth when I'll be in Scotland helping to represent Clan Cochrane at the World gathering. I am looking into getting into some of the smaller events though. I will keep you updated.

I am also hoping to get a postcard mailer out soon to those Cochrans in the state who don't know about us! Spread the Word!

Just an update!

Just an update!

I am still having problems loading photos, but I'm still working on it.

The events page has been updated and should be easier to use now! Simply browse through the working calendar, where summary of any event is listed on the day. Click on the event to see further details about the event...viola! All access to the best events of the Northwest!

I am also working on setting up a webstore that will allow you to buy certain Clan Cochrane products. All profits go towards the Clan and it's operating costs. A portion is also donated towards the cost of the Clan Cochrane booth at the World Gathering in Edinburgh in 2009. The store will allow people anywhere to purchase Clan Cochrane items and pay through paypal! It is safe and secure! I just need to set up the product support with those who have the product ;-) Hopefully soon!

Pacific Northwest Highland Games and Scottish Festival Succcess!

Hello Everyone!

The word of the weekend was "The Cochrane's are finally here!" We were glad to oblige, I wanted to just say that we had a great time and a wonderful turnout this past weekend at the Clan Cochrane tent in Enumclaw, WA. We met some wondful Cochrans and decendents of Cochrans and those just interested in the Cochrane Clan. I hope to help any and all interested and those who stopped by to join the Clan and learn what they want to know! Of course anyone can contact me directly with any questions or comments at ClanCochraneWA@live.com. I hope to be posting some pictures of the festival soon. I will also be joining some of the directories within the scottish community to get our name out there even more, so that next year we can have even more fun in even more festivals!

In other news I wanted to post here that the Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire has been canceled for 2008. The word is that they couldn't get the permits they needed in time, and have regrettfully had to cancel. You can read more here: http://www.washingtonrenfaire.com/

It's Official!

It's Official!

April 4, 2008

President George Bush today signed a document proclaiming April 6, 2008, as National Tartan Day! This is a huge victory for us Scottish Americans. We give humble thanks to the members and associates of The Scottish Coalition USA, and many of you, for your ten years of hard work to make this possible.

Since the passing of Senate Resolution 155 in 1998 and House Resolution 41 in 2005, The Scottish Coalition and others have been actively asking the American-Scottish community to request the President of the United States to sign a Proclamation proclaiming April 6, in perpetuity, as National Tartan Day. Today's Presidential Proclamation makes National Tartan a National Holiday Observance on every April 6th,

similar to Flag Day, thus placing National Tartan Day on the official United States of America calendar.

Happy National Tartan Day!

New membership cards are in the works! When you sign up for a year old or lifetime membership you will receive a Clan membership card that will be recognised by clan members nation-wide! How official is that, huh?
